The Indus River Camp is a 42 acre natural sanctuary on the banks of the Indus river, a 25 minute drive from Leh city and airport, yet the only buildings in sight are the monasteries that perch on the surrounding Himalayan range .

We offer affordable glamping: we have 8 Luxury Tents and Cottages with double beds and bathrooms, hot water showers, wi-fi, a library and games room, a telescope, a dining hall served by a Leith's educated chef and the most beautiful land in Leh.

Click here to watch a video of camp.

Acclimatise on the banks of the Indus, away from the bustle of Leh city; take a dip in the river, read from our diverse library, or explore the ancient local monasteries and villages for an insight into Ladakhi culture. Later, watch the milky way by a warm fire and wake to the dawn chorus from some of 200 local species of birds.

Hike to neighbouring Stok Kongri (6,200 metres):  drive or motorcycle through the highest motorable road in the world to the Nubra Valley: travel 20km upstream and white water raft back to the camp to enjoy a warm masala chai by the river.

You can fill your days with activities organised from camp - rafting, trekking, a 2 day trip to Nubra Valley to experience the sand dunes, double humped camels and hot springs,  or to Pangong Lake where the lake and mountains change colour as the sun travels across the sky.

If you would like to arrange a taxi, to reach camp or for your overall stay, do contact us or, alternatively, you can book online via this website

NB The Indus River Camp does not currently have a credit card machine. We accept cash, Google Pay, Paytm.

The Indus River Camp has its own dog - Momo is gentle and loving and calm with people of all ages. Please let us know if you have a phobia of dogs in advance. Below are some photos of her for good measure.
