Acclimatise for three days and immerse yourself in local culture before heading off on a 5 night cycle, navigating your way through vast jagged canyons, rivers formed from gathering snow melt and remote Ladakhi hamlets.

Witness early morning prayers in Thiksey monastery.

Track along the Indus River to  Matho monastery, where restoration work on 600 year old thangkas and manuscripts is being carried out by a local and international team. 

Visit the double humped Bactrian camels in our village of Chuchot Yokma

Experience Ladakh's capital Leh in a day, starting with a trip to the Central Asian Museum that details Ladakh's connection to the Silk Route.

Move through Leh Old Town to a restaurant that offers innovative takes on traditional Ladakhi food. 

Visit recommended shops for local handicrafts, pashmina shawls and jewellery.



Bicycle along the river to Sangam point, the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers where the colours of the two rivers blend into one.

This involves brief uphill from Phyang to the plains of Taru Thang. 

Meander through Ladakhi villages, noticing the... in architecture, the villages becoming ore abundant and green as you reach Sham Valley. 

some uphill.... , most of the route takes you along the river and then into another valley. 

Explore the 

... of the village of NImmu, the architectural .... and the changing terrains. 

Settle down to camp in Nimmu for the night. 

3 to 4 hours biking

Today's trekking will take around 7 hours and take you to 3700 metres above sea level but the ascent is light .

You will zig zag over the pristine Markha river, through small and remote hamlets, landing in the village of Markha.

The monastery has 20 odd homes, a monastery and ruins to explore amidst breathtaking scenery.

6-7 Hours Trekking



After breakfast, embark on a steep climb, past old stone mills and ruins with the option to visit the Techa Gonpa with views out across the valley.

Continue on through hamlets whilst zigzagging over the river in the shadow of Kang Yatse, a towering snow-clad mountain at 6400 metres above sea level. 

Settle in the village of Thachungste at 4,000 metres above sea level amidst abundant grazing meadows and look out for Blue Sheep and other wildlife around. 

5-6 Hours Trekking



A short climb to the spectacular Nimaling plateau, a grazing ground for the animals of locals with prominent views of Kong Yatse, the Markha and Zanskar Valleys amidst an are of high wildlife concentration. 

4 Hours Trekking



An early ascent to Kongmaru La, at 5,130 metres above sea level, gives aerial views of the mountains and valleys. 

Prayer inscripted stones down into the Shang gorge, passing rivers and the sour-spring of Chuskurmo.

At Shang Sumdo you will be collected and brought back to camp in a drive that takes 2 hours. 

Have a relaxing evening with a hearty diner at camp and settle into the comfort of your room. 

5 Hours  Trekking



After breakfast, we must say a sad goodbye and we will take you to catch your morning flight.
