Wildlife at the Indus River Camp

Just 8km from Leh town, the capital of Ladakh, our property offers a base close to the sights, but with the peace of a riverside, natural space with views across the Indus River and the Himalayan landscapes

The property is host to a selection of wildlife, many of which you can see photographed here.

Moorhens and herons make the pond their home, Ibisbills call out from the river, birds flock for the seabuckthorn harvest, and Himalayan mountain weasels and pikas live in the grass.

 ​A local naturalist and photographer takes our guests on tours around the property and the surrounding marshland along the Indus River by request
