The Indus River Camp is a hospitality service provider. We do not ship physical goods. This policy outlines how our services are delivered to guests, from the moment you book to the end of your stay.
1. Nature of Services
Our services include:
- Accommodation: luxury riverside rooms at our property in Chuchot Yakma, Leh, Ladakh
- Meals: breakfast (included with all stays) and additional meals as arranged
- On-property experiences: stargazing, birdwatching, riverside activities, and other experiences available at the camp
- Travel services: itinerary planning, external hotel bookings, taxi and transport arrangements, guided excursions, and permit assistance coordinated through our travel arm, Indus River Travels
2. Booking Confirmation
Once your deposit is received and processed:
- A booking confirmation is sent via email and/or WhatsApp within 24 hours of payment
- The confirmation includes your stay dates, room type, rate summary, and any special requests noted
- If you've booked travel services through Indus River Travels, a preliminary itinerary outline will follow within 48 hours
3. Pre-Arrival Communication
Before your arrival, we will provide:
- Detailed itinerary: if travel services have been booked, a finalised day-by-day itinerary with all confirmed arrangements
- Arrival information: directions to the property, airport pickup details (if arranged), and what to expect on arrival
- Ladakh travel tips: acclimatisation advice, packing suggestions, and any current travel advisories
- Permit status: confirmation of any permits applied for on your behalf
This information is typically sent 3–5 days before your arrival date.
4. Check-in and Accommodation
- Check-out: 10:30 AM
- Check-in: 1:30 PM onwards
On arrival, our staff will welcome you, complete the check-in process (including ID verification as required by Indian law), and orient you to the property and its facilities.
Your room will be ready and prepared according to any preferences you've shared with us in advance.
5. During Your Stay
Throughout your stay, we provide:
- Daily breakfast and meal services
- Housekeeping and room maintenance
- On-site assistance with activities, local recommendations, and any requests
- Coordination of any scheduled excursions or transfers arranged through Indus River Travels
6. Itinerary and Travel Services
For guests who have booked travel services through Indus River Travels:
- All arrangements (hotel bookings, taxi hire, guides, permits) are confirmed with third-party providers before your arrival
- You will receive a detailed itinerary with provider names, contact numbers, and pickup/drop-off details
- If any changes are necessary due to weather, road conditions, or provider availability, we will inform you promptly and arrange the best available alternative
- Our team remains available throughout your trip for real-time coordination and support
7. Communication Channels
You can reach us through the following channels at any stage:
During the travel season (May–October), we aim to respond to all enquiries within a few hours. Outside of season, response times may be slightly longer.
8. Service Disruptions
Ladakh is a remote, high-altitude destination. Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control may affect service delivery:
- Road closures due to weather or landslides may delay transfers or alter itineraries
- Power and connectivity interruptions may occur (we have backup power systems)
- Permit restrictions may limit access to certain areas
In all such cases, we will communicate any changes promptly and work to provide the best possible alternative arrangements.
